Where ya been?

Well, thanks for asking. If you'll notice, my last post was roughly late June. I got a promotion at the first of July. Bye, Bye writing time. So life changes and now we must adjust.

So what does this new position call for me to do? The title is Special Projects Coordinator. This simply means that I am able to develop, implement, and manage new programs under our CSBG division. CSBG is community service block grant. I won't go into detail but what a fun place to be. The great thing about my job is that I am able to have so much freedom in the creation department. Also, it allows me to do the thing I love, which is to create and to make the policy for that creation.

At first it was somewhat structured to develop 5 new programs that were all funded under the stimulus bill. Now, its been keep those going, managing roughly 12 staff and 9 trainees. What a whirlwind of activities that continue to come with this position. I have the full support of my bosses, compensated well and still have plenty of personal time.

That being said, I need to write more. I have also been starting in a new career. I have been the color commentator for Pikeville College basketball. You can see and hear them here, www.pc.edu Also, I still occasionally sling drinks for some private parties, so those things keep me a little busy.

Next week is Fat Tuesday & Ash Wednesday. Time to get serious on giving something up and getting focused. Hopefully, I'll write how that goes here!
